Our history
The Vazakas family’s roots are in Epirus, more specifically in Koutsi Village, also known as Vrysoula.
The Vazakas name carries an enormous tradition in the field of bakery. The story starts back in 1895, when brothers Dimitris and Vangelis Vazakas managed to create the first family bakery in Komotini. They later moved to Stylida because of the Turkish occupation, where they went on to open a brand new bakery before moving again, this time to Attica The bakeries that followed the family’s business activities were in Menidi and Piraeus, specifically in Maniatika and in Ypapanti. Both bakeries, despite their small size, perfectly depicted elements of the family’s tradition, combined with passion and love for bakery and a customer satisfaction mentality.
The family bakery in Spata is where our story begins. A story of love between the Vazakas family and bakery-confictionery.
Several family members gradually began to join the family business, among which the current owner’s grandfather, Tasos Vazakas. The vast majority of the family has now been initiated to the art of bakery, with a lot of family members going on to find new success in their very own businesses. Some notable examples would be Vazakas Bakery in Egaleo and the historic bakery of the owner’s father, Vasilis Vazakas, in Spata. Following a long journey in the field through several family-owned bakeries, the owner, a third-generation baker, opened his own bakery in Lykovrisi, Attica.
